Prachi Desai is on a high, post her recent box-office hit Bol Bachchan. First she displaced Deepika Padukone as ambassador for Neutrogena, and now she has been signed as the female lead in the Hindi remake of Saamy.
The 23-year-old actress used to endorse just one Neutrogena skin care product, and Deepika too endorsed one of the brand's beauty products, but post Bol Bachchan, the brand has decided to end the deal with Deeps and retain Prachi as face of the entire line.
She will be the female lead in the Hindi remake of 2003 Tamil cop thriller opposite Dutt, 53. The film will be helmed by KS Ravikumar (Kamal Haasan's Dasavathaaram) who makes his Bollywood debut with this film.
Producer TP Aggarwal says Prachi may come across as someone too young to be paired opposite a much older Dutt, but she fitted the role to the T.
"We wanted someone who could carry off the girl-next-door image well and who could be better than Prachi? She fitted the character just right."
Filming will start end August.
While we're happy Prachi's star is rising, we're sure Deeps will move on to bigger and better things. By the time this goes to print, she'll probably have bagged two more endorsements.
