| Kim Rhode Earns first Female Gold Medal in London Olympics for Team USA |
Skeet shooter, Kim Rhode, took home the Gold earlier today after setting a new Olympic record with 99 out of 100 targets hit. Rhode, who has now won a medal in five consecutive Olympics, was emotional as she hit her final target.
Wei Ning of China took silver with 91 points and Danka Bartekova of Slovakia got bronze by beating Marina Belikova of Russia in a shootout after they tied with 90 points.
Rhode’s father and coach was beaming with pride as his daughter earned her 5th medal at the Royal Artillery Barracks. Rhode clams that Kim has “another 5 or 6 Olynmpcs left in her.”
