Rani Mukerji's One Million Rs Makeup |
Rani Mukerji reportedly made the Aiyya co-producers Anurag Kashyap and Viacom 18 spend Rs one million on just hair and face paint for the shoot of one song in the film.
The 34-year-old star took her perfectionism to a whole new level when shooting for a special song at at YRF studios, Mumbai. She was apparently not thrilled with the results, and changed several times, making the bill soar to Rs 10 lakhs.
Rani's makeup artist Subbu and hair stylist Anu Kaushik dished to Mumbai Mirror how it all happened, though did not mention the money part.
"Rani's look in the song had to have a Middle Eastern touch. We used lots of bronze shades and smoky eyes. We changed it around four or five odd times till the look matched Rani's expectations." Rani's makeup artist Subbu told Mirror.
"We tried nude eyes with a bright mouth. Then we also tried having smoky eyes with a nude face. So on and so forth, till we achieved the perfect look. Rani clearly knows what she wants and does not settle for anything less," he added.
While Anu said:
"We sat down with Rani and Neeta (Lulla, who had designed the outfits for the song) to plan the look. But on the day of the shoot, we were still a bit unsure of certain things. Rani wanted to look perfect and thus we did change the hair and makeup eight to ten times before we got what we wanted," said Anu.
A source close to the film told the publication:
"Several look changes hiked the budget. The makeup and hair bill for the song added up to nearly Rs 10 lakh."
We guess Rani had to live up to her name!
