Sridevi Goes International |
Sridevi will make her international debut with screening of her newest, Gauri Shinde's English Vinglish, during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2012.
This will be Sridevi's first-ever film to premiere internationally and reportedly it's the linguistic characteristic of the film that got her the honors, reports Mid-Day.
The 48-year-old actress will dazzle the TIFF red carpet which slipped out of niece Sonam Kapoor's feet at the last minute last year. (Sonam's film Mausam headlining Shahid Kapoor in the lead had to pull out of the screening gala, due to objections raised by the Indian Air Force.)
English Vinglish is Sridevi's comeback film after her marriage to Boney Kapoor in 1996. The film is a funny and touching story about an Indian woman who struggles to learn the English language in order to please her husband and family.
Amitabh Bachchan plays a cameo in the film. It additionally features Adil Hussain, Mehdi Nebbou and Priya Anand.
English Vinglish will clash at the box-office with Kareena Kapoor's Heroine on September 21.
It could not have gotten bigger for Sridevi than a premiere at one of the world's most prestigious International Film Festivals.
The screening schedule will be announced by TIFF on August 21.
Here's hoping Sridevi's film is a hit!
