Kareena Kapoor Excels in 'Heroine' Theatrical Trailer

'Heroine,' headlining Kareena Kapoor, lives up to its promise, even hype, going by the 3m 11s long theatrical trailer unveiled Wednesday night by the film's director Madhur Bhandarkar and producers UTV.
The trailer conveys the premise of the film and hints to its story line.
The tag line is: 'The story of a young girl who lives a new life, every day.'
Almost the entire footage is devoted to Kareena Kapoor, most of it exclusively. Talented actors Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta make fleeting appearances.
Unlike his past films, Bhandarkar appears to be banking heavily on his heroine (Kareena Kapoor) for the success of 'Heroine.' If that is indeed so, Kareena's untested ability to pull crowds in a female oriented film will prove critical to the success of the film at the box office.
Kareena is a talent powerhouse, something that is evident from her 'Aap media walon ko film scripts likhni chahiye...' rant in the trailer during a press conference. But will she prove to be crowd puller? Vidya Balan surprised everyone with her draw in The Dirty Picture, so Kareena has a recent precedent.
If she comes good, knowing Bhandarkar's credentials, the film will certainly prove a hit.
Speaking to the press after the launch of the trailer, Bhandarkar said the story was inspired by Bollywood and Hollywood with 70 percent of the script based on real life events. Though a biopic, the headlining role was not based on the life of any one star.
What we like most about the trailer is that as in his past films, Bhandarkar pulls all stops to give a candid insight, this time into the working of the film industry.
