| Louboutin Designs Cinderella Slipper Stilettos |
Fairy tales do come true for fashionistas: Cinderella’s glass slipper is one of film’s most iconic images. Now Walt Disney Studios — the filmmaker behind the 1950 animated classic — and A-list designer Christian Louboutin have debuted a modern-day stiletto inspired by Cinderella’s famous footwear.
It’s all part of a campaign to kick off Disney’s global release of the
Cinderella: Diamond Edition on Blu-ray this fall. Disney invited the famed shoemaker, a favorite of a host of celebs and fictional characters (think Carrie Bradshaw), to re-imagine the famous shoe.

The design features two sparkling butterflies, crystal covered heels and Louboutin’s signature red soles.
“The slipper is the magic wand of transformation, which conjures confidence, beauty and love. Her character and her story dictated the design to me, it was all there in the pages and the words of this tale,” Louboutin says.
A few very lucky Cinderellas will have the chance to win one of the 20 original slippers created as part of an upcoming contest.
