Kareena Kapoor's Link to Aishwarya Rai In Being Cut From Bhansali's Latest

Sanjay Leela Bhansali spills the beans why Kareena Kapoor is not doing his project Ram Leela - Just like Aishwarya Rai could not essay the role of heroine as a pregnant woman - Kareena cannot do the role of Juliet as a married one.
Fate has completed its circle for Bebo by her gaining an important film, Heroine, through being at an advantage and by her losing an equally important film, Ram Leela, through being at a disadvantage.
Bhansali flatly denies Kareena's claims from 24 hours ago, that she is the one who walked out of the film as well as money and demand of extra dates as the reasons. The director says he is the one who called off her part as Leela in the film.
Her marriage plans were not made clear to Bhansali to begin with. He thinks Kareena was being dishonest in not revealing the situation ahead of time. A Juliet cannot be a married woman, as simple as that.
"A Juliet no matter how far removed from Shakespeare's original vision of her cannot be a married woman. With images of her wedding festivities flashing all over, it would have been impossible for Kareena to pass herself as a Gujju Juliet despite her great talent," a source close to Bhansali told Mumbai Mirror.
"It threw up a series of frightening scenarios. Kareena would, understandably, get busy with pre-wedding and post-wedding events. In the midst of her wedding in October, Kareena also needed at least a month to promote Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine which releases a month ahead of her wedding date."
The fallout of the two was not pleasant says the source.
"The parting was anything but acrimonious. Sanjay was surprised to read on Monday morning that Kareena had 'walked out' of Ram Leela. The truth is, this was building up for a long time. And money was the least of the problems. Sanjay was extremely keen to work with Kareena. She thinks she is an exceptional actress."

The Ram Leela debacle completes a hat trick for Kareena refusing Sanjay's third film after declining Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas - Both films went to Aishwarya and became huge box-office hits. And she got one of the most compelling offers of her career, Bhandarkar's Heroine because of Aishwarya's pregnancy.
It's like the old saying goes, you win some, you lose some. =) But given the amount of talent Kareena's got, we don't think her schedule will be slow for long.
