Jennifer Aniston Forgot to Tell Her Mom About Engagement

Jennifer Aniston’s mom reportedly didn’t know her daughter got engaged until, well, the rest of us did.

America’s sweetheart has a lot to celebrate this weekend — her boyfriend Justin Theroux turned 41 and as a birthday present to himself he decided to take the eternal singleton off the market. Aniston, 43, has been dating Theroux since May 2011.

Recognize him? Justin has been on the big screen a number of times. You may remember him from Your Highness, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, Miami Vice, Zoolander and Wanderlust — where his on screen chemistry with Jen turned into a real-life romance.
Jen’s estranged mom, Nancy Dow, 76, learned of the wedding news with the rest of the world — when Theroux’s rep announced the couple’s engagement to People magazine on Sunday night.
But it seems she hasn’t taken the oversight to heart, a family insider told Radar Online:

“Nancy is absolutely delighted Jennifer is going to marry Justin. The first she learned of the engagement though was last night after an official announcement had been made to the press.”

The squeal added:

“[Nancy] had an inkling that Jennifer was happy and ready to settle down — but because she’s pretty much estranged from her daughter she only learns bits and pieces through Jennifer’s half brother John Melick.”

The former Friend’s had it in for Nancy ever since she published a tell-all memoir about her relationship with her famous daughter in 1999. They supposedly mended their rift after Nancy suffered a stroke last September.
