Locals told Britain’s The Sun that there’s a “real buzz” at the $60 million home — which Brad and Angie purchased in 2008. Most are skeptical about claims the party is in honor of Brad’s parents’ 50th wedding anniversary.
“Brad flew in to oversee preparations but they’re all here now. They say it’s for Jane and Bill [Pitt], but some think this could be it. Even Angelina’s private jeweler is here. [Brad's] at his house in Italy, but could fly to Marseille in an hour. There’s a real buzz around the estate.”
Some reporters, on the other hand, claim there has been no sign of preparations. Local newspaper Var Matin categorically denied a TV report which claimed that the wedding could take place as early as Sunday.
Patrick Mareschi, Deputy Culture Secretary of the nearby village of Correns, told Reuters:
“We don’t know anything about it. Under French law couples have to get married at the town hall. Unlike with a religious wedding, there’s no way a couple can hold a civil ceremony at their own home.”
Brad and Angelina, who started dating after they met on the set of the 2005 flick Mr. and Mrs. Smith, confirmed their engagement in April. They are the parents of six.
