Talented Parineeti Chopra Awaits Another Film

Talented actor Parineeti Chopra is yet to be offered a film since Ishaqzaade in May, though her debutant co-star in the film, Arjun Kapoor, has been signed on for two new projects: 'Aurangzeb' and '2 States'.

Parineeti, 23, has played two fire-brand roles since her debut in Ladies vs. Ricky Behl (2011), both have earned her critical acclaim.

There were reports that she was offered a role in Punit Malhotra's next with Imran Khan, but lost it to Kareena Kapoor because talked about it prematurely drawing producer Karan Johar's ire.

Chopra denies the reports, speaking to HT.

"Why would I show off to the world that I got a film with Karan when I don't have one?" she asks. "I never got a call from Karan, Punit or anyone from Dharma Productions for the film. These reports are completely false. I know Karan and Punit, and have met them many times. If they thought I was right for the part, they would have offered it to me."

Also, her pairing with Shahid Kapoor in Maneesh Sharma's next produced by YRF is not finalized, says Parineeti, even though she has a three-film contract with the production house.

Parineeti fans expected the filmmakers to repeat her pairing with Arjun Kapoor because they delivered a hit with Ishaqzaade, but that hasn't happened.

"I haven't got any offers with him either. Though he's signed Aurangazeb and Two States, I am not doing either of the films," Parineeti told HT.

Since her last two roles were somewhat similar, of a headstrong woman, what is she looking for in her future roles, HT asked Parineeti.

"I will choose what I get and will try to ensure that it is different from my earlier roles. The character and the script would be the prime focus for me," she said.
