| Selena Gomez Bags Headlining Role in 'Parental Guidance Suggested' |
The film tracks 16-year-old Ric Thibault (Wolff) and his crush Nina Pennington (Gomez) on a rock 'n' roll-themed odyssey. The film additionally top lines Austin Stowell (The Secret Life of American Teenager) as Selena's domineering boyfriend.
The cast also includes Dylan McDermott and Cary Elwes.
The film is being produced by Mad Chance (Get Smart, Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore) and will be directed by the film's script writer, Tim Garrick.
Selena had recently announced that she will be returning to music, having taken a break to focus on films.
"I finished three movies this year, so I'm very happy about that, because it's exactly what I wanted: I wanted to do film for a little bit," she said. "But I am missing music, so we're going to start on the fourth record at the end of this year," she had told MTV News in June .
It is likely Selena will wrap the new film before going full time on her fourth studio album.
