Rihanna Clothing Line Will Debut in Spring 2012

In a blog posting on Monday, pop star Rihanna rocked fans socks by announcing that she has inked a deal to lend her expertise on style to her very own line of fashions. The collection, released in cooperation with British-based fashion house River Island, is expected to arrive on racks in the Spring of 2013.

“I’ve been wanting to design my own collection for some time,” Rihanna said this afternoon. “River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with, and working with a British, family-run business also really appealed to me. I find London really inspiring and River Island loves to have fun with clothes. I’m looking forward to working with them and creating something really special.”

The pop superstar is also teaming up with Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts for a British talent show on the hunt for fashion’s hottest new designer. The show will debut on Britain’s Sky Living network later this year.
Rihanna knows her way around the racks. The Bajan diva, 24, is the face of the Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans collections. In December, she collaborated with designers at the famed Italian fashion house on her first fashion collection. Rihanna created a hot capsule line of denim and lingerie that arrived in shops just in time for the holidays.
