Priyanka Chopra Defeats Vidya Balan In The Battle Over Sabyasachi Designs

Bollywood is almost as famous for its high-profile style as it is for its romances.
Which makes it unthinkable that Sabyasachi will not be designing for his biggest brand ambassador Vidya Balan in Ghanchakkar, because Sanjay Leela Bhansali wants the designer to focus entirely on Priyanka Chopra's look in Ram Leela.
Be it through her films or red carpet ensembles, Vidya has been loyal to Sabya creations for a long time now, but it is also true that Bhansali has always relied on Sabya to make his heroines dazzle on the big screen.
Vidya's film was to start in September, but now it has been preponed to August which is clashing with Bhansali's dates. The ace designer would have gladly worked on both gigs, but Bhansali denied him permission to leave the set.
"Bhansali asked Sabya to be constantly present on the sets of the film. Interestingly, Sabya's contract doesn't mention any such thing. It doesn't contain any clause barring him from working on any other project simultaneously," a source close to Bhansali's film told Mumbai Mirror.
UTV has reportedly hired another Bengali designer Subarna Ray Chaudhari to design for Vidya. Subarna has worked earlier with Balan in her films Eklavya and Parineeta.
Considering that the 38-year-old Sabyasachi is the only Indian designer to have graced the New York, Milan, and London Fashion Weeks, maybe Bhansali has a point. After all, why would he want the style genius to get distracted?
