Deepika Padukone is being honored with the Smita Patil Memorial Award at the Priyadarshni Academy's 28th bi-annual global awards.
The award instituted by the NGO promoting socio-cultural and educational activities is given to an actress for excellence in cinema.
Past recipients of the Award include Vidya Balan (2010), Preity Zinta (2008), Kareena Kapoor (2006), Urmila Matondkar (2004), Aishwarya Rai (2000)
The Awrads ceremony will be held on September 19 at the Regal Room, Oberoi Towers, Mumbai.
Deepika, 26, made her Bollywood debut with Om Shanti Om in 2007, a performance that earned her many beginners' awards.
