Mallika Sherawat was considered for the lead role in the erotic thriller 'Jism 2,' the film's producer Mahesh Bhatt told reporters at a presser in Mumbai on Thursday, July 26.

Jism 2 is a sequel to the 2003 film headlining Bipasha Basu and John Abraham.

Mahesh along with daughter and director Puja Bhatt and male leads of the film, Randeep Huda and Arunodya Singh attended the presser. The film's leading lady, Indo-Canadian adult star Sunny Leone, was a no show.

"We had Sunny in our mind since 2002, but things did not materialize then. We had also thought of Mallika and Bipasha, but Pooja Bhatt felt both were not apt, she was not happy with it. She felt it would be like treading on the similar path. Then again we had an encounter with Sunny and Pooja was more than happy to have her in the film," said Bhatt.

"We saw Indianess in Sunny, she had a persona of a porn star and she fit the bill for Jism 2. The requirement of the film was that a girl who makes a living for herself through the path of sin but has a heart of gold," he added.
