And it looks like filmgoers haven’t seen the last of Gotham City.
Anne Hathaway’s much-lauded performance as Catwoman in the film is already sparking talk about a spinoff film for the Oscar-nominated actress. Lensman Christopher Nolan has said the just-released Batman film is his last, but Anne says only someone of Christopher’s calibee should be allowed to put his claws on Catwoman again.
“If he’s interested, I’m very interested. I think it would be lovely to see more of her, but only if it’s with the right people. She lives in this Gotham City and so it would have to be established by the people who have made this Gotham City. For me, at least.”The good news for fans is that Christopher is open to the idea of a Catwoman film:
“She’s an incredible character and we’re very excited to see her and hopefully we’ll leave people wanting more. I certainly think she deserves [another chance], she’s incredible.”The Dark Knight Rises has taken nearly $250 million at the global box office since its July 20 debut.
