Sunny Deol's 'Ghayal Returns' in the Works

Sunny Deol's home production 'Ghayal Returns' is not shelved as rumored, says director Rahul Rawail.
The film is a sequel to the 1990 blockbuster Ghayal. A promo of the sequel was released in 2011, but the project hit a roadblock when director Ashwini Chaudhury and Sunny Deol developed some differences.
Sunny then brought Rawail on board with whom he had worked 12 years ago in Arjun Pandit.
Rawail says he has started working on the script from scratch.
"The sequel will definitely be made. I am working on the script. I can't talk about the film or any other details related to the project," Rawail told PTI.
"Both Sunny and Rahul did not want to go ahead with the story that Ashwini had penned. So, Rahul is working on a fresh story which is different from what Ashwini had conceptualized," a source close the project said.
"Rahul had several ideas about 'Ghayal Returns' and Sunny has selected one. Rahul is working on the idea. To develop a good story will take time, say about six months or so," the source added.
Filming will start in 2013. While Sunny is confirmed as the male lead, the rest of the cast will be decided once the script is ready, says Rawail.
Sunny is currently busy with the production of Yamla Pagla Deewana sequel with dad Dharmendra and brother Bobby Deol. The film is their home production.
