| Kareena Kapoor's 'Heroine' Trailer Gets 'A' Certificate; Poster, Promo Releasing Soon |
"As expected got a "A" certificate from the censor board. Countdown begins for the launch of the poster & promo of #Heroine." Bhandakar Tweeted on Saturday, July 14.
In a subsequent tweet, Bhandarkar clarified:
"A small correction. The "A" certificate is for the theatrical promo of #Heroine, not the film. Edit of the film still in process."
Heroine's theatrical trailer was to release on June 1 with Rowdy Rathore but was held back for last minute tweaks to duck the A certificate; the attempt proved futile.
"Heroine chronicles the life and times of a Bollywood actress who goes through a turbulent journey, so it's natural for the trailer to show Kareena smoking and drinking alcohol. However, Madhur and the film's producers UTV foresaw some problems with the censors if they continued with these scenes. They didn't want a situation where the promo could be shown only with an 'A-rated' film," an insider had told Deccan Chronicle then.
Bhandarkar may be in luck, 'A' certificates are in vogue with several films likely to end up with them: Jism 2, Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum, Raaz 3 and Gangs Of Wasseypur 2; Bhandarkar could bundle the Heroine theatrical trailer with any one of them.
