Bruce, who told the crowd he had been “trying to do this for 50 years” hit the stage at Hyde Park, fans were overjoyed when McCartney wound up on stage for a version of “I saw her standing there.”
According to Westminster officials, Bruce had been told that the concert needed to end by 10:15 pm. The pair were still jamming at 10:40 when the concert abrutply ended. Fans were upset at the abrupt ending, “Ashamed to be British right now. Springsteen and McCartney playing ‘Twist & Shout’ in Hyde Park and council pulled the plug cos of curfew,” tweeted actor and comedian Stephen Merchant.
